NRA Basic CCW Course

Description

Prerequisites: NRA Basic Pistol or equivalent knowledge/skills. This class is not designed as a student’s first course and it is not introductory level material. Verification of previous training is not required but honest self-assessment is. At a minimum to attend you must know and should be able to always follow the 3 Cardinal Rules of Firearms Safety. Knowledge of your firearm's operation, specifically how to safely load/unload, open the action and keep the action open is necessary. Class Description: The NRA Basic CCW Course is intended for individuals with basic firearm safety and manipulation knowledge. Students will take part in classroom and live fire training, take a student examination, and complete a nationally standardized shooting qualification. This class will also include a legal component addressing the laws pertaining to Concealed Carry presented by Attorney Brett Riegel. Participants must bring the following equipment: -Pistol for concealed carry – minimum caliber of 9mm* or .38 Special (*.380 MAY be used with special consideration) -Strong Side OWB Hip Holster – recommend form-fitted leather or kydex, must cover trigger/trigger guard and have at least a friction level of retention (No SERPA, thumb breaks, pocket or belly bands) -Belt designed to carry a holster and a firearm -Minimum of 200 rounds of FACTORY ammunition suitable for practice -Spare magazines or speed loaders with appropriate pouches - recommended 3 total -Clothing appropriate for concealed carry -Eye protection & Hearing protection - recommend electronic
