NRA

NRA Gun Safety Seminar 
This is a 2 hour, non-shooting course that is conducted in the classroom only. Topics covered in the course include gun safety, storage, types of firearms and their parts, ammunition, cleaning, and what to expect at the range. There are no prerequisites for this course. 
$25/person  (Also offered virtually) 

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

This course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience and is presented in the classroom and on the range. This 8 hour course provides instruction in safe gun handling, the various types of pistols, shooting fundamentals, ammunition, storage and gun cleaning. You will receive The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and a certificate upon successful completion of the course. There are no prerequisites for this course. $200/person + range fee

NRA Defensive Pistol

Course length: 4 hours (3 hours classroom/1-hour range)

Cost: $99/person + range fee

Min. # of participants: 4

*Demonstration of safe gun handling and basic handgun skills required.

     This 4-hour course is intended for shooters who want to learn about defensive shooting and are looking to possibly start carrying a firearm for personal protection.

The class will focus on the following:

  • Developing a defensive mindset

  • Responsible and ethical use of a handgun for self-defense

  • Drawing from a holster

  • Defensive shooting fundamentals 

Participants must provide: personal firearm, strong-side OWB holster, 100 rounds of factory ammunition, two magazines for a semi-auto pistol, two speed loaders for a revolver and mag/speed loader pouches. 

 

NRA Personal Protection In the Home

This 8 hour course focuses on the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family. It also provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.  This course is for experienced shooters, able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, and cleaning the firearm. Experience can be demonstrated by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.  Students must provide their own firearm, holster, and approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. You will receive The Basics of Personal Protection Inside the Home handbook and a certificate upon successful completion of the course. (Contact us for pricing.) 

NRA CCW

Course length: Classroom 8 hours

                     Range 4-5 hours

Cost: $230/person + range fee

Min. # of participants: 2

     This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense.

     The NRA CCW Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment.

Course topics include the following:

  • Firearm Safety (Mandatory)

  • Basic Defensive Pistol Skills

  • Drawing from Concealment

  • Loading and Stoppage Remediation

  • Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment

     Students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range.

     Students will receive NRA reference books, take an NRA CCW Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and the NRA Certified Instructor.

Participants must provide: personal firearm in a minimum caliber of 9mm or .38spl, strong-side OWB holster, 200 rounds of factory ammunition, three magazines for a semi-auto pistol, three speed loaders for a revolver and mag/speed loader pouches. 

 

USCCA 

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun, shotgun and AR-15 basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training. Full 9 hour course $200/person + range fee

Basic Handgun

Course length: 5 hours (4 hours classroom/1-hour range)

Cost: $100/person + range fee

In this class students will learn the following:​

  •  Universal safety rules

  • Understanding semi-automatics and revolvers

  • Selecting a handgun/pros & cons

  • Clearing semi-auto malfunctions

The following equipment is provided:

  • .22Lr semi-auto pistol and ammunition

  • Targets

  • Eye/Ear protection

Defensive Shooting Fundamentals

Course length: 8 hours (6 hours classroom/2-hours range)

Cost: $175/person + range fee

In this class students will learn about the following:

  • Universal safety rules

  • Defensive shooting versus marksmanship

  • Proper grip

  • Unsighted fire, point shooting, flash sight picture, sighted fire

• Trigger control

  • Emergency & Tactical reloads

  • Clearing common malfunctions

Participants must bring the following equipment:

  • Handgun

  • Ammunition – 150 rounds

  • Extra Magazines/Speedloaders - 2

  • Magazine/Speedloader pouch

  • Eye & Ear Protection

*NOTE—This class does not teach how to draw from a holster.

Concealed Carry—Learn How to Draw From a Holster

Course length: 8 hours (6 hours classroom/2-hours range)

Cost: $175/person + range fee

In this class students will learn the following:

  • Why conflict avoidance is so important

  • Situational awareness

  • The color codes of awareness 

  • Cover, concealment, and an exit strategy

  • Unsighted fire, point shooting, flash sight picture, sighted fire

  • Emergency & Tactical reloads

  • Drawing from a holster, with and without a cover garment

  • When we’re left with no other choice

Participants must bring the following equipment:

  • Handgun

  • Holster - Strong-side OWB or IWB leather or kydex (NO SERPA, pocket, ankle, belly band holsters)

  • Thick Belt

  • Ammunition – 150 rounds

  • Extra Magazines/Speedloaders - 2

  • Magazine/Speedloader pouch

  • Eye & Ear Protection

 

Home Defense Fundamentals

Course length: 8 hours (6 hours classroom/2-hours range)

Cost: $175/person + range fee

In this class students will learn the following:

  • Defining a personal protection plan

  • Evaluating your home’s security

  • Home alarms

  • Home defense

  • Mental exercises

  • Defending the home

  • Defending property

  • Violent encounters and their aftermath

Participants must bring the following equipment:

  • Handgun

  • Ammunition – 150 rounds

  • Extra magazines/Speedloaders - 2

  • Eye & Ear Protection

Women's Handgun and Self Defense Fundamentals

USCCA’s “Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Fundamentals” is a welcoming and engaging training guide created by a woman for women who are seeking to begin, improve upon, or add to their firearms skills. With three distinct modules (Women's Basic Pistol, Women's Intermediate Pistol, and Women's Defensive Pistol), this course is designed to reach students who are brand new to firearms and those who are ready to learn more about defensive shooting. Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and then built upon, while also exploring situational awareness, common types of handguns, ammunition types, malfunctions, firearms handling skills, defensive pistol fundamentals, and the use of deadly force. Whether you’ve never touched a firearm, you’re looking for the next steps in your training, or you’ve chosen to learn about the skills, tools, and mindset needed to use firearms for self-defense, you can be prepared to carry confidently every day with tips and techniques from experienced women in the world of firearms. Full 9 hour course $200/person + range fee

Course length: 5 hours (4 hours classroom/1-hour range)

Women's Intermediate Pistol

Course length: - 6 hours (5 hours classroom/1-hour range)

Women's Defensive Pistol

Course length: 9 hours (7 hours classroom/2-hour range)

Cost:  $195/person + range fee

Rifle

NRA Basic Rifle Shooting

This course teaches the basic knowledge and skills necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This course is at least 8 hours long and includes classroom and range time. You will learn to shoot from the benchrest and standing positions, with the option to learn kneeling, sitting and prone positions. 

There are no prerequisites for this course. You will receive The Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook and a certificate upon successful completion of the course. $165/person

Seminars

Situational Awareness

Situational Awareness (SA) is a frame of mind in which you are relaxed yet aware of your surroundings and also aware of whom or what could be of help to you if a problem were to arise.

In this seminar you will learn how to develop the proper mindset to take responsibility for your own security, and to trust your intuition or "gut" feelings when it comes to your surroundings. $30/person

NRA Refuse To Be a Victim Seminar

The single most important step toward ensuring your own safety is having a personal safety strategy in place before you need it. NRA’s Refuse To Be A Victim® program teaches the tips and techniques you need to be alerted to dangerous situations and to avoid becoming a victim. Students will receive the NRA Refuse To Be A Victim handbook and a certificate upon successful completion of the seminar. 

This is typically a 4 hour seminar that can be tailored to your specific needs whether it be in your workplace, school or place of worship. $30/person

Active Shooter Response Seminar

This seminar is designed to provide information on how to identify, predict, mitigate and respond to violence. Statistical information regarding violent crimes in the United States is provided as an information source for understanding the rising tide of violence in today's society. In most cases, this training can be conducted in your work environment or place of worship, and will be customized to fit your needs. (Contact us for pricing.) 

Realtor Safety Seminar

This seminar is designed to provide realtors with the skills to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations. Group rates are available. 

Individual Private Instruction

One-on-one instruction is available at the rate of $50/hour.  

Includes eye/ear protection and one target.
